The Pillingers will very soon be taking to the air! On Sunday 30th January I (Steve) will be flying to Nairobi en route to South Africa for our daughter Jen’s wedding. I’ll be in Kenya for a week to attend annual staff meetings with my new colleagues in our Africa Area administration, to which I am [...] Yes, in a couple of weeks’ time I (Steve) will be travelling to Wycliffe’s International Linguistics Centre in Dallas, USA, to do some ‘recurrency training’ on the latest computer programs and publishing procedures at our Global Publishing Services HQ. This is part of the preparation needed for the new role I expect to take up soon, [...] For the last couple of weeks you’ve been biting your nails, wondering what brought Steve and Johanna together after Johanna turned him down like a bedspread. We will now put you out of your misery. As we said last time, the idea was first mooted (in Steve’s mind) while we were both doing our training at [...] Steve and Johanna were born at an early age. Separately, of course: Johanna in Tanzania (yes, that’s right: Tanzania, then the British colony of Tanganyika); and Steve in South Africa. They grew up speaking different languages. Steve spoke a South African dialect that might loosely be called ‘English’; and Johanna spoke a corrupted version of [...] Johanna’s new role in Wycliffe I now have a new role in Wycliffe as a Partnership Development consultant.
