Ties in with a question I was asked by a US international telephone operator years ago when I wanted to put a call through to South Africa. “Which country in South Africa, sir?”
Also, more recently, the friend of Johanna’s who asked whether Kenya was a province of Africa…
Even in the Information Age the ‘dark continent’ is still terra incognita to most people!
